Stellar Energy GP, Inc. is a leading solar integrator for American farms and agricultural processing facilities. Stellar Energy worked closely with the Lundberg family to design and install this 350kW solar array to meet the energy needs of the farm and storage facility.

“This solar energy option,” said Jessica Lundberg, board chair and nursery manager for Lundberg Family Farms, “not only falls in line with the company’s environmentally focused philosophy, but it makes good business sense. If you’re willing to put up the capital and you have the space available, the money is there to help you with it.” The Lundberg family expects the investment to pay for itself in about 8 years.

Being a family business, when we invest, we’re planning long-term, both in terms of sustaining the soil and environment and in making sure there’s a viable business to pass on to the future generations. – Jessica Lundberg

During the course of the year, the system will produce more than 350,000 kilowatts of clean energy from plentiful California sunshine. Energy generated by the solar array will reduce more than 11,000 tons of carbon dioxide pollution over 25 years, which is the equivalent to planting 130 acres of trees or not driving 28 million miles

Lundberg Family Farms have been recognized with a Green Power Leadership Award from the Environmental Protection Agency as a leading farm generating and using green solar power on-site.

EPA promotes several national- and sector-focused Top Partner Rankings, which generate significant promotional opportunities. These lists represent the leading organizations that make the largest green power purchases in the Partnership, those purchasing 100% green power, and the partners generating and using the most green power on-site.
