John’s Incredible Pizza Company Goes Solar with Stellar Energy
System generates enough renewable energy to bake 58 million pizzas

Rohnert Park, Calif. ‑- Stellar Energy, a national, large-scale solar provider, recently completed a 230 KW (DC) solar system for John’s Incredible Pizza Company in Fresno, Calif. The rooftop system is expected to generate 350,000 kilowatt-hours per year and offset 25 percent of the restaurant’s energy consumption.

The Stellar Energy solar system will help John’s Incredible Pizza Company meet its green initiatives and significantly reduce its operating costs.  “The investment pays for itself while generating clean, renewable energy,” explained John’s Incredible Pizza Company Vice President of Operations, Lori Stowe.

The Stellar Energy team has been providing commercial-scale solar systems for the food and beverage industry for more than a decade, helping many of California’s largest growers, food processors and wineries reduce their energy costs and achieve their sustainability goals. “Our team at Stellar Energy was excited to partner with John’s and made sure the project was delivered on time and on budget, with minimal impact to their day-to-day operations,” said Michael Mittleman, Stellar Energy President.

“The impact of an organization like John’s Incredible Pizza Company using solar to power their operations cannot be understated,” explained Ted Walsh, Stellar Energy’s Vice President of Project Development.    “The financial and environmental benefits of the project are significant, but this solar system also demonstrates the social and community leadership of our client.  When you consider that John’s Incredible Pizza Company is a place where parents bring their kids, where families and sports teams come together to enjoy themselves, and this is now where kids might first learn about solar, might ask their parents why renewable energy and environmental issues are important, it’s great to think about that conversation taking place in a fun, family-oriented environment, not only in a classroom.”

This latest project originated when John Parlet, the restaurant’s owner was contacted by one of his former employees, John Covert.  Covert now works in the solar industry for a local firm that focuses mainly on residential and small commercial projects, but collaborated with Stellar Energy to deliver the best solution possible to John’s Incredible Pizza Company.  “Stellar has a lot of experience with large commercial projects and offers a Large Commercial Partner Program designed to help other solar companies successfully carry out larger scale projects,” explained Covert.
