Ted has been a leader in the solar industry leader for the past decade. Ted’s passion for responsible sales ethics, competitive leadership, and environmental stewardship has been instrumental in transforming Stellar Energy into one of the most innovative and successful solar PV firms in the US. He combines a high level of integrity, customer perspective and personnel management experience with expertise in project finance, renewable energy products and markets.
Ted joined Stellar Energy in 2012, previously serving as the Vice-President of Sales and Marketing. Prior to Stellar Energy, he held executive management positions at several of the nation’s largest solar firms. His teams have developed and delivered more than 300 commercial-scale solar projects for clients ranging from Global Fortune 100 companies to the nation’s leading agricultural firms to schools and municipalities. Clients include PepsiCo, Apple, Bonita Packing, Johnson & Johnson, Abbot Labs, eBay, Ricoh Electronics, and the Fire, Police and City Management facilities of Fairfax, CA.
Ted holds degrees in Economics, Managerial Accounting, and Chemistry from the University of Rochester and the University of South Florida, respectively. A lifelong athlete, he competed in the decathlon in college and played professional basketball in Europe. He lives in Northern, CA with his wife and two young children.
V.P. of Operations
Dan heads the Estimating, Design, and Construction teams working to ensure that Stellar Energy consistently delivers high-quality solar photovoltaic (PV) systems. He is responsible for contract management and construction supervision where he uses five years of PV design and construction experience at Stellar to ensure client satisfaction through the delivery of on-time and on-budget projects.
Dan holds a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from San Jose State University. His major skills include project management, estimating, PV CAD design, power system design, and NEC compliance. Dan is known for strong communication skills, a positive outlook, and is motivated by the challenge to deliver successful PV projects.
Director of PV Systems Performance Group
Wayne is a seasoned technical expert with skills across a range of industries and more than 30 years of experience in testing, deploying, and supporting advanced technologies and complex mechanical systems. Prior to joining Stellar Energy, Wayne managed a team of technicians responsible for servicing and maintaining more than 250 large-scale commercial solar photovoltaic systems and was responsible for over 70 Megawatts of solar assets. His precision skills were honed at Lockheed Martin where he held positions of progressive responsibility that included building, testing, and integrating satellite payloads and Space Shuttle Systems.
Wayne is experienced in developing strategic O&M scope and scheduling for large multisite projects such as Pittsburg and Lincoln United School district. Wayne’s project experience includes managing solar O&M for School districts, Pepsico, Johnson & Johnson and Alza.
Director of Technical Solutions
Chris joined Stellar Energy in early Spring 2009 and has made a dramatic impact to our business. He was Stellar Energy’s first solar analyst responsible for working up preliminary construction feasibility, utility bill analysis and solar production modeling. After three years as the lead analyst Chris decided it was time to get in front of customers and help Stellar Energy develop key accounts. Chris has been a part of almost every Stellar Energy project and has been a contributor in Stellar Energy’s success. Chris was a part of the leading team creating a custom design rooftop racking solution for Lightstorm Entertainment.
Chris has been involved in key projects for Stellar Energy. His clients include Lightstorm Entertainment, Valley Fine Foods, Haas Automotive and Lincoln Unified School District.
Sales Operations & Marketing Manager
Shahrzad's specialty is the strategic development and management of tools, functions, and processes essential to solar project effectiveness focusing on what is beneficial for the client. She is a key contributor in the development of solar projects ranging from repeat AG clients to Fortune 500 companies, hospitals, high-tech, and industrial production companies. She believes by proving a social and economic responsibility to her clients, together they can team up to act responsibily towards our planet by practicing sustainability. Her deep respect for nature makes her passionate about helping to accelerate the acceptance of solar as an important piece of the puzzle in global renewable energy solutions.
The most recent projects in Shahrzad's portfolio are NY Seneca Sheriff's office, Landmark Aviation in San Diego and the marketing package for Bonita Packing. Previously, she worked on key solar projects for clients ranging from Alza Corp., Carl Zeiss Meditec, CA Family Foods, Stewart & Jasper Orchards, Curtimade Dairy, Depot Park, Mammoth Lakes WD, Ratto Bros., Ricoh Electronics, Sysco, DataSafe and True Leaf Farms. She holds a bachelor's degree from University of California, Berkeley.
Luke Young has a reliable track record of managing successful completion of diverse and complex Solar PV projects. He has a degree in Industrial Technology with a strong background in Total Quality Management and Lean Manufacturing. He builds projects with a total systems approach focusing on Value Engineering and process integrated quality control. He has a proven history on multi-million dollar projects with success scheduling, subcontracting, self-performing, supervising, planning, budget forecasting and managing multiple complex solar PV projects simultaneously. Luke is a NABCEP Certified PV Installer and holds a CA General Engineering (A) Contractor license.
Some of the projects Luke has managed include Stewart & Jasper, Moorland School District, Jordon Winery and Sonoma Mountain Village Solar Project. Luke's construction and field experience include projects for Google, Disney, Sony Picture Studios, Harrah's Rincon Casino, Marin Municipal Water District, Las Gallinas Sanitary District and Puget Sound Energy.
Eric Von Mehden
V.P. of Finance
As Corporate Controller for Stellar Energy, Eric is responsible for all accounting operations. He has streamlined accounting operations and implemented internal improvements. Prior to solar, Eric held director positions at F. Korbel & Brothers, Moss Adams LLP and Ernst & Young.
